California is dead last nationally in the percentage of students who take the bus to school -- just 10% -- because the state still funds transportation at 1980s levels! It's time to change that and let students take the bus to school again. edsource.org/2022/bus-stops…

California can do better! This is 2022, not 1822. Our Horse & Buggy-level of school transportation funding doesn't support families. @AsmPatODonnell has the answer with AB2933. @CSBA_Now @CASBO @ACSA_info @ACSA_GR @tboneflint

CSBA is proud to work with Asm. O'Donnell to reverse 40 years of disinvestment from school transportation funding. CA has the lowest % of students riding the bus of any state! AB 2933 will fix that by funding 100% of local district & COE home-to-school transportation costs.

Get on the bus with AB 2933 the bill that pays 100% of local home-to-school transportation costs. AB 2933 passed the Education Committee with a unanimous, bipartisan 7-0 vote. Don’t let your representative miss the bus. Tell them to vote for AB 2933 so all kids can get to school!

CA Teachers and school employees will receive vaccine in Phase 1B Tier One. As supply increases expect a timeline for Phase 1B to be announced. Education on safety and a streamline process will be the key in getting our state vaccinated. @SanDiegoCOE @CSBA_Now @SolanaBeachSD

This echoes what a state education coalition including @WeAreCTA and @CSBA_Now said yesterday. They also warned that both teachers and families could be resistant to return to school in the fall without the proper resources for social distancing and cleaning.

In a joint statement, the superintendents of LA Unified & San Diego Unified say again that Newsom's budget doesn't provide enough to safely reopen schools. And: "A robust system of COVID-19 testing and contact tracing will need to be in place before we can consider re-opening"
