This is a bit of a hot take, but here it goes: Movement is ruining Apex Legends. Now before you get angy, let me explain. As we all know, Apex has been going downhill for a bit now. I love this game so much, so I started thinking, what is the REAL cause for this drop in popularity? After analyzing other big games, I discovered the answer. Just like Rocket League with flip resets and Fortnite with building, Apex Legends has a mechanic that is highly exploitable and wildly increases the skill gap: movement. Especially with the configs available, the game has become unbelievably sweaty. Now Fortnite is the only game to have salvaged this drop in popularity, they did something that saved their game: No Build. This brought back a lot of the OGs, who generally are the big streamers with the big audience. By doing so, they reignited their passion & love for Fortnite, which directly impacted their viewers, which made them want to play Fortnite again. I believe, if Apex were to create an “OG Apex Legends” permanent gamemode, where there’s few movement mechanics, no configs, and maybe even og abilities/guns/maps, it would reignite the popularity of the game. And i’m not saying to delete movement, it’s what makes the game so unique with the high skill ceiling. So keep a “regular gamemode”, a little like R5 Apex, where everyone sweats & configs their weiners off. @PlayApex your move 🫶🏽
