I think a lot of our problems would be solved if collectively we just upped our biblical literacy. In a way the strife and debate, though loathsome, serves as fuel for people to dig into their Bible, even if its just to try to prove someone else wrong, the hope being that something will stick.
We are all works in progress, we should be making improvement constantly, even if we suffer setbacks from time to time. The Spirit is no slouch, and we are preordained to be conformed to the image of Christ.
