A huge, huge thank you to everyone who came out and to Tom, Jason, the band and everyone involved in putting this together. It’s been a long and pandemic-delayed road to get here, but we couldn’t be happier with the end result!

What a fantastic day we had on Saturday! The sun shone & 200 folk arrived to watch the unveiling of the new sculptures, led by the fabulous Ullapool Pipe Band, the World's Strongest Man Tom Stoltman, the sculptures' uber-talented designer Jason Paterson and our own Diane Rusling.

So this afternoon @WelcomeUllapool staged a wonderful celebration to mark the launch of the new Ullapool entrance sculpture at the south entrance to the village. The sculpture was unveiled by the World's Strongest Man #TomStoltman, a memorable occasion. More pics to follow soon

Pop along this afternoon for a glass of fizz or a soft drink and discover a brand new part of our historic village. 😄

This has been our latest and largest project to date. Ullapool was founded in 1788 as a new fishing port for herring, known as the ‘silver darlings’, and we thought it would be a lovely welcome to all approaching the village to be greeted by a sculpture depicting that heritage.

Today’s the day! We’re officially unveiling the Ullapool Gateway Entrances at 2pm at Braes Layby, Ullapool, with designer Jason Paterson and World’s Strongest Man Tom Stoltman, and Ullapool Pipe Band leading us off. We can’t wait for you to join us!

Jason Paterson has created two magnificent sculptures for us that celebrate Ullapool’s heritage... check it out! OK, we’re not actually unveiling them yet. You’ll have to wait till Saturday to see them, but by then we’ll be armed with glasses of bubbly, so every cloud. 😉

We’re thrilled to have reigning World’s Strongest Man Tom Stoltman with us on Saturday for our big unveiling! It’s an honour to have him ‘cut the ribbon’ at the Ullapool Gateway Entrances. Hope you’ve given your arms a rest Tom, not sure how heavy those big scissors will be. 😂
