The work Pontsho is doing is very important. I first started hearing about US evangelicals in Uganda in the mid-2000s. Since then Uganda has become the most homophobic country in Africa, & that is down to how those people have been able to sway political and public opinion.

I started tracking US evangelical ideology in SA 8 years ago & it’s worsened. It dates back to apartheid but the internet/globalisation makes it easier. This is just one in many examples of what they’re doing & I’m worried that there aren’t enough of us fighting back. It’s BAD.
