@kool79165 @whocareenergy @avispartan1 "Division due to sectarian and external divisions". Grab a random muslim off the street and ask them what you think X plight in Y muslim country, they will express support 90% of the time. The wider muslim populace tends to keep governments separate from the nationality/ethnicity

I know I’ll get stoned in the town square for saying this, but after finally catching up with all 3 and really reflecting on them… my ranking for the Absolute trinity so far is Superman > Wonder Woman > Batman

@No1IsSleeping But he converted again to Sunni Islam before he was assassinated by NOI/FBI. Much different context. The NOI cannot even be called an approximation of Islam, Shia or Sunni

@whocareenergy @avispartan1 Not unique in that it has no equivalent to the other abrahamic religions. But more grounded in practice than the other two while also decentralized due to sectarian and external divisions. My point is, the average muslim identifies strongly through the global Ummah collective.

@Ratpiss23689739 @avispartan1 I guess a more accurate statement is that the concept of Ummah is more binding and grounded in practice for the average Muslim, while not in its institutions, and in comparison to the Christian equivalent which is more unified centrally but less grounded in its application.

@Ratpiss23689739 @avispartan1 Shi man, the Ummah was a thing. Maybe not anymore, but I dont see similar concepts with the other major abrahamic religions besides maybe Judaism, but it was never nearly as big, if not older.

@Wellll_Then @lea_labryssal Calling it bloodline is an absurd and insulting simplification of the Shia position. The better oversimplification is consensus vs appointment. Even if you don't believe that Imams were divinely appointed, the historical contention is that every Imam appointed his successor

How do adult converts to Islam decide if they believe Muhammad’s rightful successor was Ali or Abu Bakr?

@loisgriffin_egg @AltOpinions99 It is more than fine to not care. I just don't like the double standard of people thinking their side is "clean" when no one is. My point is towards the self righteous Atheists.

@Wellll_Then @AltOpinions99 we don't forget that, we just don't really care. i being born in a country does not make me complicit to every single thing its government has done

"leftists" are trying to imply that george bush, a devout christian who believed that "gog and magog" controlled the middle east, invaded iraq under the pretext of... the early 2000's atheism wave???
Sunupu@thejordanhart

@apostrophebeats Do you think it's a coincidence that the rise of New Atheism coincided with the invasion of Iraq? These aren't separate ideologies, the entire point is to uphold Western values as inherently superior to justify colonialism in the Middle East

@graslandenjoyer These generalizations are insane and ignore huge amounts of context. The muslim world of today is not innocent, but do not engage in the circumstance with bad faith interpretations of history.

@graslandenjoyer Wrong. King Faisal was subservient to the west because to oppose them meant death and destruction. Capitulation was the only method of survival. Critique it as you wish, but do not lie and pretend the alternative was any better. Al Sharaa is the same, capitulation or more death.

@avispartan1 The Muslim as an oppressed group are unique. In that we have split ourselves along tribal/ethnic/financial lines over the past millenia, but the concept of a single Ummah endures despite all the strife, the unbroken belief that we are all one. It endures, and will never die.

@flannelmoder @SakakiIsCute My point is, New Athiesm was a vehicle to launder soft justification for atrocities to liberalism and the online space. Not to the extent of the neocons or the evangelicals, but they're complicit. Look to their speakers now on Palestine and you'll find theyve never changed.

@flannelmoder @SakakiIsCute And on America being Homophobic, yes you are correct. But look to Israel as a modern example. Their society is homophobic as well, just better than the policy of Hamas, yet they point to it constantly as evidence of their moral superiority. America was and is the same in that way

@EPM106 We are not leftists, minor overlap of some ideas. Our goals simply align. Cant let the discourse delude either party into thinking we are "friends"

@sylveonzf Islam is ultimately just a person's relationship with themselves and the world. I'm not gonna argue that certain texts aren't sexist/homophobic, but I'm also not gonna argue that they are. x.com/omarsbigsister…
