On Monday evening, the crew here at Wilmslow conducted an exercise, along with Macclesfield and Knutsford, at H.M.P. Styal. The exercise was to test a multi-agency response to a simulated fire in the visitor centre, with BA teams fighting the fire and searching for casualties 🚨

We are well equipped to deal with an emergency on the water, but even we will avoid getting into the water if possible - you NEVER should 🚫 There should be equipment available around open water to use instead, like lifebuoy rings and throw lines - keep an eye out for them!

This morning we went to Styal Primary School to give the reception class a tour of the fire engine to kick off their "what we want to do when we grow up" week 😁 We had a great time, thanks for having us and enjoy the rest of your week! 🚨

Whilst we were out today we also made people aware of the dangers of driving while taking prescription drugs. Not all prescription drugs affect your driving, but some can be as bad as taking illegal drugs - plus the penalties are the same! Always check with your doctor first.

As well as drink-driving, driving under the influence of drugs is a real issue on our roads. Illegal substances can have severe consequences of your driving abilities - around 18% of people killed in road crashes have traces of illegal drugs in their blood orlo.uk/R90Hj

Today the crew have set up at Waitrose in Alderley Edge to speak to drivers about the #fatal5. We’re working on cutting down the amount of crashes caused by drink and drug driving on our roads over the coming summer. Keep your eyes on our social media for more advice and updates!

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, and the beginning of the liberation of Europe. The crew at Wilmslow paid our respects to those who bravely fought and died on the beaches 80 years ago by holding a 2-minutes silence at15:00. #lestweforget #Dday80

On Sunday morning we had the pleasure of helping Albie the Wire-Haired Dachshund, who had gotten himself tangled deep in a hedgerow! After the lovely little rascal was freed, he spent the rest of the day relaxing at home to help recover from the morning's mishaps 😁 #notjustfires
