It feels like the market is taking a breath before the next meaningful move — whether that’s a breakout to the upside or a deeper test of support remains to be seen. How are you approaching May? Accumulating on dips, staying patient on the sidelines, or already positioned?

Crypto market opened the new month with mixed signals. Bitcoin is currently trading around $76,300 – $77,100, showing a modest recovery after yesterday’s softer open near $75,750. Ethereum is hovering near $2,280–2,300.

Geopolitical tensions (especially around Iran and oil) are keeping some pressure on risk assets, but the underlying institutional bid via ETFs hasn’t disappeared.

BlackRock’s IBIT still dominates the flows and holdings, reinforcing the structural demand from traditional finance. My current view: We’re in a classic consolidation period. Volatility has decreased, volume is thinning, and the market is waiting for a clear catalyst.

On the institutional side:Bitcoin spot ETFs continue to be one of the most important stories. While we saw minor net outflows on some days at the end of April, the broader monthly picture remains supported by strong institutional interest earlier in the month.

This morning’s price action looks relatively calm compared to the geopolitical noise we saw yesterday. The market appears to be digesting the recent consolidation phase after Bitcoin’s decent gains in April.

April 30, 2026 While most people are complaining that Bitcoin is “stuck” around $76-77k, I see a completely different picture. This isn’t stagnation. This is consolidation before the next leg up.

After such a prolonged sideways phase and tight trading range, we usually get a strong impulsive move. Especially with BTC dominance still holding high and capital continuing to flow into Bitcoin.

Everything is red. BTC flat. ETH sliding. And somehow $DOGE is up 6.88% with $4.8B in volume today. No obvious catalyst. Just pure speculation chasing the one green candle in the room. Classic crypto.

Bitcoin has now failed to break $80K twice in one week. Negative Coinbase Premium, $137M ETF outflows in a single day, Fear & Greed at 33. The market isn't scared — it's exhausted. $74K support is the next real test. $BTC
