In the end Balmer said let's go all in with 2nd Xbox console and next Windows. Both launched disastorusly. RROD and Vista was awful. But then X360 thrived with updates and Windows 7 was big hit. History is going to repeat but uhhh much differently and won't be same as in the past

The internal conflicts between Microsoft and Xbox Staff always was a thing since 2001. I do still remember till this day how Bill Gates wasn't happy with Xbox console because it wasn't a box running on open Windows. I also remember how Steve Balmer wanted to throw Xbox into trash

Kinda misleading though since it's going to be on Steam. If it was only on Xbox platform (Console + Xbox app on PC) then that wouldn't be false advertisement. I always said Xbox's biggest enemy always was Microsoft itself and not PlayStation and not Nintendo and not Steam.
