It was always clear that more casualties were likely, but strong air defense systems and widespread access to shelters have significantly reduced the toll. Without these protections, the number of civilian deaths in Israel could have been in the thousands.

It's crucial to follow Home Front Command guidelines, but sadly, when a war drags on this long, some people slip up, and some even grow careless.
