MRI cost isn’t random, it depends on what’s being scanned, contrast use, machine strength (1.5T vs 3T), and most importantly, reporting quality. A non-contrast MRI brain will obviously be cheaper than something like a cardiac MRI, they’re entirely different in complexity, acquisition, and interpretation. At Safdarjung Hospital, we do all MRIs on a 3T machine: ₹2000 (OPD), ₹1000 (ward/ICU), Free for pregnant women, infants <1 year and some patients get it free sanctioned. Yet, I’ve seen reports from many “cheap” diagnostic centres - honestly, terrible. Even my first year PG reports better. Scan quality? Often poor. Films? Useless. That’s why we frequently have to re-evaluate outside scans or redo the scan at our institute. But for many people, it’s just about “sasta scan.” Not accuracy. Not quality.

if you’re vegetarian for religious reasons to avoid hurting animals, you should be really careful about where you source your milk and dairy from. I’m in agriculture business now, so I’m slowly understanding how cruel these cattle owners are. for example, some of these mfers kill all male calves of their cows/buffaloes! I don’t sell milk, I sell cattle food. but I keep a couple of cows and their calves cos they’re cute and their expenses are negligible for me. plus I get good quality milk. some of my dehati customers are surprised that I’m raising these animals with so much care without thinking of them as profit-machines. they’re like “Why are you keeping them? Just sell them to be butchered.” I explained the reason as basic empathy and morality, and one of them said “that’s why God blesses you” 😭 so these are people who believe in God and understand what’s right or wrong, but their greed overpowers their humanity. God help them!!
