Imo, the best way to satiate Nintendo while maintaining competitive integrity: BF, YS, DL and counterpick FD In bo3, each player gets one strike. Winner of game 1 gets a ban. In bo5, same striking. No bans, modified DSR where you can't return to the stage you last won on.

First local back in months and really happy with my performance. Got a middling placement in main bracket, but got two runback wins in ammy. (and even though it took 2 SD's, I got my first game win on Mr.Donuts, I'm holding that)

Yes, but whenever they do take chances on someone new half of the people are typing "who the F is this?". Majors are a business and often the safe bet is to use a known entity to deliver a reliable product. It sucks for people outside the top echelon (re: me), but thats life.
