The US Patent Office has revoked Nintendo's 2025 patent on summoning characters to battle on the player's behalf, either automatically or manually. This is the same patent cited in Nintendo's legal action against Palworld. Nintendo has two months to appeal the decision. Does not automatically end the Palworld lawsuit, but weakens Nintendo's position on this mechanic.

This video segment in today’s #NGSHeadline from director Hamazaki-san came about after my meeting with #PSO2NGS staff in Tokyo last fall! ✈️ Nothing specific - I just felt it’d be nice if every once in awhile the higher ups on the project would talk to Global directly. I’ve seen the discussions of people saying they don’t pay attention to Global at all. I promise that’s not the case! Funny enough, there’s people on the JP side say that the higher ups only listen to Global. Regardless, I hope the director’s short message met you well on this Tuesday morning. ☕️ There’s some exciting things coming to NGS this year that came about of your continued feedback (maybe even teased in this video message), so stay tuned ARKS! 🫡
