@ernestdove @Buzzy0816 bo being as bad as he's been has been super surprising, baty taking a step back too. alvy has always been inconsistent and vientos i wasn't expecting to have a big role, but lindor and soto both getting hurt for pretty long periods as well as bo sucking are huge surprises

@Buzzy0816 @_A4RON_ Literally what was said last year. Kinda sucks two years in a row. Soto is playing. Bo is playing. Baty/Vientos/Alvarez in everyday lineup healthy. Pitchers are healthy enough. Not expecting perennial injured Robert/Polanco to be injured?

I think Mets have to try to shake up this roster to whatever extent is possible in May. Not easy. But lot of innings and at-bats going to guys who are not helping the team with them right now. And time for the big guys, such as they are given who is on the IL, to figure it out.

I think that qualifies as a disappointing 5-4 roadtrip for the Mets, who struggled offensively again as soon as they hit a contending-quality pitching staff and need to start stringing series wins together. Construction of their ‘pen/pitching staff continues to bite them, too.

Wild story: A man in Kentucky laughed so hard at a botched Younghoe Koo FG last season that it triggered a seizure, sending him to the hospital, where doctors discovered a tennis-ball-sized brain tumor. Injured or not, I haven’t understood the Polanco signing from day 1. He was not a first baseman. It doesn’t help that Stearns went to Japan to scout Munetaka Murakami, a slugging first baseman, didn’t sign him, and he’s tearing it up for the White Sox right now.
