You know you've got all the wrong priorities when securing women's spaces is "misogyny", but standing under signs like this is "unity". Unity starts with honesty. The last parliament got it wrong. Women's rights were hard fought, I will do my utmost to protect them in the next.

Rashid Hussain made the remark in a letter delivered across Glasgow Southside in an apparent attempt to present himself as a stronger defender of women’s rights than rivals Kaukab Stewart and Holly Bruce. The comments prompted an angry response from Ms Stewart, who accused Labour of trying to stoke division in the constituency. She demanded an apology from party leader Anas Sarwar. “This kind of misogynistic attack on female candidates shows just how desperate the Labour Party has stooped,” she said. “Anas Sarwar should apologise for allowing such comments to be sent to households and immediately explain what action the Labour Party will take over Cllr Hussain’s outrageous remarks.” Ms Stewart, who does in fact have a daughter, added: “While Labour try to stoke division in our communities, I will always work to bring people together.” 👇
