Just like every other social theory, feminism has its pros and yes, it’s not exempt. Some of those pros benefit the majority, while others serve only a few loyalists of the ideology. And like every social reform we’ve ever seen, those who don’t benefit from its “pros” will soon begin to see them as cons. That’s the natural order of every social theory it starts out as a harmless idea meant to fix society. But as it grows, its shades become clearer, and even some of its early supporters begin to fear the monster they helped create. The truth is, these theories do solve some problems but they also create new ones. It’s a cycle: a harmless idea at first, until it begins to birth its own demons. Patriarchy, for instance, became a thing as a social response to classism. Long before equality was a concept, power and privilege belonged only to royals and the rich. But when the demand for freedom and fairness grew, and movements against slavery and oppression gained traction, men being at the forefront shaped the new system that followed. And when everyone finally became “free,” power still needed somewhere to rest. Patriarchy filled that void painting men as providers and protectors, and women as homemakers. It started with noble intentions but slowly turned controlling, birthing misogyny in the process. Then came feminism a necessary reaction to the flaws of patriarchy. It began pure, righteous, and well - intentioned, fighting to correct imbalance. But just like every other ideology, it’s now beginning to birth its own demons with misandry slowly creeping in and clouding the good it once stood for. That’s the cycle of social reform: the oppressed rise, fight for balance, gain power, and eventually mirror the same flaws they once condemned. In the end, it’s like George Orwell wrote in Animal Farm: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” Everyone fights for equality until they get a taste of control. Then the cycle restarts. Whether it’s patriarchy, feminism, or whatever comes next, it always begins as a cure until it becomes the next disease.

Love how clearly this was articulated 😂. Funny enough, I've experienced something similar before, but I'm not exactly proud to talk about it because, in my case, I found out by accidentally becoming an investigator of someone else's privacy 🙈. I was seated behind a young lady on a bus from Akure to Lagos. People of God, before I knew what was happening, my eyes had seen things my mouth shouldn't repeat 🤐. To cut a long story short, this lady was apparently in love with three different guys and was telling them how much she loves them. As if that wasn't shocking lol, her chat with her bestie confirmed that her trip to Lagos was for a 4th English alphabet appointment 😭. My mouth opened, and for a moment, it forgot how to close.

So yesterday was Johnny Drille’s concert in Toronto, and somehow I found myself there even though I had absolutely no plan to attend. A close friend of mine was one of the promoters, so my plan was to spend a few mins at the event and escape back home. Instead, I accidentally purchased a front-row seat to the greatest relationship drama ever produced I was sitting quietly in VIP, chewing gum and minding my business, when two ladies joined my table. Let’s call them Lady A and Lady B Shortly after the arrived, Lady A received a call and stepped outside to take it When Lady A returned, the premium gist subscription activated immediately Apparently, the call was from a guy named John For the next 15 minutes, Lady A gave a detailed review of John. John was romantic, John was caring, John was thoughtful, John was planning their future, Honestly, if John applied for Canadian citizenship through marriage, I would have approved it myself. Then came the twist, Lady A said John wasn’t really her type, Instead, she couldn’t stop talking about another guy, Let’s call him Boy Alinco. Boy Alinco was on his way to the concert from what I deduced. The way she talked about him, it sounded like boy Alinco is a struggling immigrant 😅😂 John had the future. Boy Alinco had the vibes. As I was processing all these information, a tall dark man suddenly tapped her on the shoulder. Lady A turned around and nearly swallowed her tongue. “JEFFERY?!” The entire table froze Jeffery looked just as surprised “Babe, I thought you said you were working night shifts today?” he said, then She muffled something that I didn’t hear, Then goes Jeffery, “I got these tickets because I wanted to surprise you, but when you told me you’d be at work, I figured I’d just come with Luis instead. At that point, Lady A’s soul briefly left her body. 😂 I stopped chewing my gum, Lady B couldn’t stopped blinking and even the music suddenly sounded quieter, then one thing became clear Jeffery wasn’t John, neither was he Boy Alinco 😂😂 Ladies and gentlemen, we had officially exceeded the maximum number of characters allowed in this relationship, I thought to myself as I started doing CIA, FBI investigations in my head. Anyways, while we were on that back and forth, Lady A’s phone rang again. She glanced at the screen, and you could literally see panic on her face, from the look on Lady B’s face, It looked like Boy Alinco had just arrived. I was just shaking my head all through, it felt as if I was watching the group stage of the UEFA Champions League between John, Boy Alinco and Jeffery, I looked at my watch and it was already 10:45 PM. That was my cue to leave, To be honest, I was exhausted Not physically, but Emotionally. Because throughout this entire saga, these ladies looked classy, well put together, innocent, and respectable. If I hadn’t accidentally become an unwilling spectator, I would never have guessed there was a whole Premier League table of men involved. At that point, I felt sorry for Jeffery, John and Boy Alinco, who has probably arrived but stuck outside because his date dares not pick his call 😂 I picked up my car keys, shook my head and started my journey home! Although, I wish I waited for the full thing to unravel but I just had to leave! All I know is that Johnny Drille wasn’t the only performer at that concert. If you’re dating in Toronto, I feel very scared for you! 😭😭
