Io non ho mai tifato e mai tiferò contro la nazionale perché non son capace, però che mi fanno tutti schifo lo posso dire e anche che non vedo grandi prospettive, al posto di gravina andranno altri dinosauri e come allenatori non vedo dei luminari all’orizzonte, dei giocatori non ne parliamo
sono solo triste, schifato e posso ancora dirmi fortunato che ho fatto in tempo a vederla vincere mondiale ed europeo

Had the atom bomb been available it might have been used on Berlin instead of the D day landings. In the event it cost around 120k American lives to conquer Germany.
I never hear anyone lamenting that we had to fight through to Berlin against fierce defence.
The atom bombs dropped on Japan were to shock and awe the Soviet Union more than to spare the troops in Japan.

The planned invasion of Japan was going to be so catastrophic that the War Department ordered 1.5 Million Purple Heart medals. So many, that they were still issuing medals from that batch all the way up to last year.
The toll of Hiroshima and Nagasaki can only be fully accounted for against what would have been an order of magnitude more destruction and death from the alternative path.
