Progress under the REA mini grid project “DARES” continues steadily, and it’s encouraging to see tangible results taking shape across our project sites. Just in February, Alfuttaim marked the completion of mounting support bases in several locations. Today, I’m pleased to note that they have moved a step further with panel installations now completed in four communities: Maraya Rogo, Warawa LGA – 87KWp Ballagaza, Gabasawa LGA – 218KWp Dagar, Gabasawa LGA – 104KWp Mekiya, Gabasawa LGA – 181KWp Bringing us to a combined 590KWp of installed solar capacity across these sites. This progress, driven by the commitment of Alfuttaim and our partners, reflects the steady momentum we are building under the DARES Project to expand reliable electricity access to underserved communities. For me, it’s always important to highlight that behind every milestone like this are real people, households, small businesses, and communities that will soon experience the impact of consistent and sustainable power. We remain focused on delivering these projects efficiently and ensuring that each site translates into meaningful, long-term value for the people it serves. The work continues. #DARESProject #RuralElectrification #SolarEnergy #EnergyAccess #CleanEnergyNigeria #SustainableDevelopment #PoweringCommunities #RenewableEnergy #abbaaliyu

My dear fellow Nigerians, Today, as I clock another year in the journey of life, I'm filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity given me to serve this great nation. I want to take this moment to thank Nigerians for their messages, show of love and prayers on the occasion of my 74th birthday. I thank all our citizens for their patriotism, solidarity and support for our administration. To those who have taken space in newspapers or paid for air time on radio and television to wish me well, I thank you immensely. I must thank my wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, for her kind and loving words. I also thank Vice President Kashim Shettima for all he said about me. Consistent with my tradition over the years to mark my birthday in line with the mood of the nation each year, I resolved to also observe this year's birthday low key. As I mark this special day, I am reminded of the challenges we've faced since we initiated our reforms. I'm glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel, despite the temporary setback caused by ongoing Middle East crisis. The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me, our Renewed Hope team and to our government. We achieved the gains together. As we march towards the third anniversary of our administration, it is my deepest conviction that we shall succeed in building a brighter future for our citizens and future generations. We are determined to confront some of the challenges we face today, and with your continued support, we shall overcome. Let us continue to work together to build a stronger, prosperous and more resilient nation that will make Nigeria the pride of Africa. Thank you all, and happy 74th birthday to me! Bola Ahmed Tinubu President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT PRESS RELEASE. GOVERNOR DAUDA LAWAL DEFECTS TO ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS ( APC) The Government and APC family of Zamfara State wish to formally inform the general public of an important political development following extensive consultations with stakeholders, political leaders, elders, and supporters across the state. After careful consideration, and in the over riding interest of stability, progress, and the sustainable development of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, has decided to formally defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This decision was reached after wide consultations with political stakeholders and supporters, particularly in view of the prolonged internal crisis, leadership disagreements, and unresolved structural challenges within the PDP at both the national and state levels. These challenges have continued to create uncertainty and distractions that could hinder effective governance and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Zamfara State. The Governor emphasized that his primary responsibility remains the peace, security, and development of Zamfara State. Consequently, it became necessary to align with a political platform that provides greater unity, stability, and stronger cooperation with the Federal Government for the benefit of the people. The final deliberation leading to this historic decision was held at the Government House in Gusau under the coordination and leadership of the Deputy Governor, alongside senior government officials and key political stakeholders. His Excellency expressed deep appreciation to members and supporters of the PDP for their cooperation and support over the years. However, he noted that the present political realities and the unresolved crisis within the party have made it necessary to take this bold step in the interest of good governance and the future of Zamfara State. By joining the APC, the Governor reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening unity, improving security, accelerating development, and ensuring that Zamfara State benefits fully from stronger collaboration with the Federal Government. The Government therefore calls on all citizens, political leaders, party supporters, and stakeholders to remain calm, peaceful, and supportive as the state enters this new political phase aimed at promoting unity, stability, and development. Signed: Nuhu Salihu Anka Director General, Media and Communication Office of the Governor Government House Gusau, Zamfara State

Re: Kano State Government’s Misplaced Defence on ₦6.5 Billion Diversion By Adamu Mukhtar Musa My attention has been drawn to a recent statement by the Kano State Government on the alleged diversion of ₦6.5 billion. The release, signed by the DG Media, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, makes spurious claims that must be addressed. First, the claim that over ₦20 billion was spent through the Directorate of Protocol between February and May 2023 is false. Records show that the total federal allocation for that period was ₦33.05 billion, and the Directorate’s annual allocation never exceeded ₦300 million. The allegation is therefore misleading and politically motivated. Second, while admitting that the matter is before a competent court, the government contradicted itself by attempting to absolve the accused through media propaganda. This undermines the judiciary and betrays desperation. Third, dragging the past administration into a matter that concerns the present government is diversionary. The people of Kano deserve answers, not excuses. Was ₦6.5 billion withdrawn? For what purpose? Was it properly retired with documentation? Instead of lengthy political rhetoric, the government should publish verifiable records to clear doubts. Accountability is not blackmail; it is the people’s right. Finally, while I respect the principle of presumption of innocence, due process must prevail. I call on civil society, the media, and anti-graft agencies to remain vigilant. Transparency not propaganda is what Kano people deserve. Signed: Adamu Mukhtar Unguwar Gini Former Special Adviser, Protocol Government House, Kano

SHIFTING BLAME AS THE ONLY WEAPON OF THE KANO GOVERNMENT By Aliyu Samba I once said it, and I repeat it today: whenever the glaring failures of Abba’s administration stare us in the face, their only weapon of defense is to shift the blame to the past government. Two years of dry taps and empty reservoirs under their rule, they cry “It's Ganduje….!”. Our youths swallowed in the pit of thuggery and violent brigandage, again “the past regime….!”. Our children rotting in dilapidated classrooms, abandoned to a broken future, “Laifin Ganduje ne”. The economy of Kano, once the beating heart of commerce in West Africa, now a shadow crawling behind its peers, they will still scream “the previous administration……..!”. And today, when EFCC and ICPC unmask their cronies for monumental looting, money laundering, and dollar racketeering, their hymn remains the same, “Ganduje! Ganduje! Ganduje!” Yet this is the same Ganduje they deride daily as a man with no influence in Nigeria today, while at the same time, they invoke his name as the scapegoat for every shame and scandal that explodes under their roof. To be honest and for the sake of clarity, in this new round of revelations, the individual fingered by EFCC and ICPC openly admitted guilt in his own statement. The courts have already seized millions from him as stolen public funds. ICPC itself confirmed seizing over one billion stolen naira, a billion siphoned from the sweat of Kano’s talakawa and hidden in the vaults of a single greedy hand. There are reports of public funds being diverted into a single individual’s account, from which he squandered the people’s wealth. There are further allegations of billions laundered through Abuja Bureau de Change operators, converting naira into illegal dollar transactions far beyond what the law permits. These are not mere allegations to be swept under the carpet with propaganda and denial. These are specific charges that demand answers. Yet, instead of providing clarity, this government hides under the shadow of Ganduje, as though the man still occupies Government House in Kano, rather than Abba Kabir Yusuf. Even the tired excuse that “the opposition is behind it” collapses under its own weight. Opposition politics, everywhere in the world, involves digging up allegations, the responsibility of the government is to defend itself with facts or reform itself through action. For eight long years, the Ganduje administration endured relentless opposition attacks, yet it never collapsed into this cowardly pattern of denial and blame-shifting. What stopped us from treating Abba’s government with the same scrutiny? Is it above reproach? Certainly not! This is a government that campaigned on a moral promise: zero tolerance for corruption, no matter how little. That promise now lies murdered, exposed as a fraud against the people of Kano. If it turns out to be the usual political trick, a fraud to exploit the goodwill of the talakawan Kano, then let them know this, the talakawa of Kano have woken up. Ganduje’s Name Should Not Be Weaponized for Politics – Garba I feel compelled to address recent claims circulated by the Kano State Government that seek to link former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to alleged financial misappropriation, corruption, and misconduct. These assertions, specifically regarding the supposed overspending through the Protocol Directorate and claims of land grabbing, are politically motivated, misleading, and entirely untrue. Governor Ganduje completed his tenure with integrity, diligence, and a steadfast commitment to the people of Kano State. Throughout his administration, he prioritized governance, development, and the welfare of citizens, ensuring that all state resources were managed responsibly, transparently, and within established legal and procedural frameworks. It is crucial to emphasize the following points: The claim that Governor Ganduje misappropriated funds through the Protocol Directorate is unfounded. All activities coordinated through this office were administrative in nature, conducted according to law, and strictly within the scope of state-approved budgets. Any attempt to suggest otherwise distorts the facts and misrepresents the nature of state governance under his administration. References to alleged scandals are false and politically charged. Governor Ganduje’s service record shows decades of dedication to Kano State, and using such narratives to attack his legacy is an act of misinformation designed to mislead the public and distract from genuine governance issues. During his tenure, Governor Ganduje maintained policies and systems aimed at protecting public assets and ensuring proper land administration. Assertions that land grabbing or asset misappropriation were regular practices under his leadership are entirely inaccurate. These claims unfairly tarnish the reputation of a leader whose administration was committed to the lawful and transparent management of state resources. Governor Ganduje’s legacy is define
