जमील उर रहमान पहले कलकत्ता गए, वहाँ से बी.ए. किया और फिर 1927 में इंग्लैंड में चले गए, वहाँ से 1931 में बैरिस्टर बन कर वापस भारत लौटे और पटना हाई कोर्ट में प्रैक्टिस शुरू की। कटिहार इलाक़े में आज भी ख़ान बहादुर चौधरी मुहम्मद बख़्श के खोले विभिन्न शिक्षण संस्थान आज भी मौजूद हैं।

मुहम्मद जमील उर रहमान का ताल्लुक़ बिहार के कटिहार से था। आपकी पैदाइश 1905 में हुई थी। आपके वालिद का नाम ख़ान बहादुर चौधरी मुहम्मद बख़्श था। जो पेशे से एक बड़े कारोबारी थे। और 1930 में पूर्णिया से एमएलसी भी चुने गए थे। शुरुआती तालीम घर पर हासिल करने के बाद 1/2
