Once A Gooner, Always A Gooner. #AFC

The system of false nationalities used by the Malaysian Football Association 🇲🇾 has been detrimental not only to Asian opponents but also to Malaysian teams in the league itself, as the fraud benefited the Johor Darul Ta'Zim club – owned by the eldest son of the King of Malaysia and Sultan of Johor Despite the sanctions imposed (belatedly) by FIFA on the players and the federation (merely a fine), a question arises : how did the officials manage to get away with NOTHING ? How can the federation continue to act as if nothing had happened, given that Malaysian football is, to boot, riddled with serious problems (refereeing, the fixture list, failure to comply with basic rules and regulations, match-fixing, violence...) ?

MFL mengesahkan bahawa pendaftaran tiga pemain warisan daripada kelab Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) dan seorang pemain Kuching City FC sebagai pemain tempatan adalah mengikut Peraturan Pertandingan Liga Malaysia 2025-2026. malaysianfootballleague.com/Content/Post/W… #LigaMalaysia #DemiLigaKita

ALLEGATIONS OF JDT BEING PUBLICLY AND GOVERNMENT FUNDED IS A WRONG, JDT DOES NOT USE PUBLIC NOR GOVERNMENT FUNDS Johor Darul Ta'zim FC (JDT) vehemently denies allegations on social media that 91% of the club's revenue in 2024 came from public or state-linked sources as it is grossly inaccurate, uninformed and a misrepresentation of facts. While JDT's audited financial accounts do list Johor Sports Council (Majlis Sukan Negeri Johor) and government grants or donations, it is merely a standard operating procedure where money is channeled for various purposes. For the record, it is a norm in Malaysia for all sports sponsorships from private companies — a bulk of the 91% alleged in this case — to be channeled through the Sports Council (both national and state) due to tax relief purposes for the companies. As such, all of JDT's private sponsors also channel sponsorship money through the Sports Council. Government grants and donations given are firmly for the development of sports at grassroots, including the organisation of youth tournaments and grassroot programmes at all Johor districts. A bulk of these is distributed to the Johor Football Association (PNBJ) and district football associations for these purposes. JDT would like to clarify that none of this grants are utilised for the running of the football operations at the club, including first team expenses, salaries of employees, operations of the JDT Academy nor the maintenance of club assets.
