Still cannot get over yesterday’s match. In all these years following MI, I have never felt so disappointed. 2022 was a debacle, but that team was below average to a great extent. 2026 was supposed to be our 2020, yet we are heading downhill.
Cannot purely blame Hardik; the team as a whole seems to miss the MI spirit. At GT it was different—he was the star in the setup while others were not so much. But MI is a different beast altogether; everyone here is a superstar, some even bigger than Hardik. Managing that requires special skill, which I have seen only a few exceptional captains pull off. Ponting, MS, and Rohit are the ones who come to mind. At this juncture, Hardik doesn’t seem to have that. At the same time, very disappointed with Hardik’s on-field calls and the management’s team selection.
Seriously have low hopes for how this season is going to pan out. One way or the other, big calls have to be taken if MI are to get back to winning ways. Win or lose, one thing remains: I will always be there to support the team that has given me more to celebrate than disappoint. #MIvsPBKS
