How do you measure sunshine? ☀️ With fire. The Campbell-Stokes Sunshine Recorder at the Blue Hill Observatory uses a glass sphere to focus sunlight onto a card, literally burning it as the sun moves across the sky. The length of the burn = the day’s minutes of bright sunshine.
