@BrendonStilesMD Out of curiosity (and given the study’s nature and comparator): why wasn’t the expectation directed toward surgical urology colleagues? Consistency in who we expect to critique what might be part of the bias conversation too.

@BrendonStilesMD Fair to scrutinize any study critically (and respectfully, of course). But holding one specialty uniquely accountable for perceived flaws feels less like bias correction and more like bias redistribution 😉

Have to admit that I am a bit disappointed watching many #RadOnc like, retweet, & embrace this study without pointing out critical flaws - particularly after the whole hullabaloo w/ the IRRADIaTE radiation complications paper. Pretty classic example of confirmation bias...

Perhaps is opportunity to address and educate us all on the review/publishing process, its flaws, what can(not) be done when fails, etc. Many ppl (incl patients) read articles as “truths” which can lead to harm I think would be valuable
