Still raging about Times attack piece on Ruth’s family & all of us who’ve tried to hold Ofsted to account. One of so many facts it ignores in blaming those who speak out is that Ofsted cited as factor in deaths of ELEVEN teachers. How can silence ever be the correct response?

@AnnaFazack1 Agreed - it’s an utterly shameful opinion piece. Julia Waters has worked tirelessly, campaigning for the reform of the Ofsted to prevent future deaths, whilst grieving for her sister.

I refuse to retweet it but shameful attack column on Ruth Perry’s sister Julia in Times. Quotes the now discredited Ofsted report of Caversham primary, misuses Samaritan guidance, ignores damning coroner’s report, select committee inquiry… Wondering who briefed this…

@Edmund_B_W @VerityKalcev @alisonwrightpr Yes, they could. But they were not remedied at the time of the inspection, and they were serious - with potential to lead to harm. As I say in the piece, schools need the opportunity and support to remedy issues. But it is dishonest to pretend there was no serious risk.

Much coverage of headteacher Ruth Perry's death has been - generously - casual about suicide reporting guidelines, treating her as a martyr to bludgeon Ofsted. That's dangerous, and we're missing the opportunity to talk about what schools really need... thetimes.com/comment/column…
