🖼️Day of Yellow Flowers (1956) by Tom Lovell It's my profile, and it's one of my favorite paintings. Tom Lovell was a master at capturing the densest condensed 'moment between' emotions. The woman in this painting is defenseless and asleep in her slip. The man, who appeared to be her lover, held up the yellow flowers that seemed to have been prepared for her, waking her up tickling her with that flower. When I look at this painting, I feel the most beautiful silence and trust-based love. His actions are cautious and quiet enough at the same time to act "tickling and waking with flowers," and love is felt. The space feels like an "emotional haven" in the manner of a bedroom for two, a woman asleep defenselessly, and a man who respects her. Lovell said he wanted to convey this in this work. "The real form of love exists before acting" Before speaking, before touching, before waking up, before owning... In other words, love is the purest moment. This form of love shows the state in which trust is complete. There is no conflict, no confession, no contact in this painting. But by itself, the depth of their relationship can be inferred only by "moments in between." Maybe that's why when I look at this painting, I feel the warmth and comfort and the trust and love that can't be replaced by anything. The name of the piece, "Day of Yellow Flowers," is seen as a day when there is no need for proof of love, but the action itself is proof.
