You didn't make anything. You stole imagery from hundreds of thousands of actual filmmakers. The proper verb for you to use is "prompted" or "stole." When they ask if "you made this," the proper response is, "No. I prompted it. I then posted the result, which is wholly derived from work stolen from real filmmakers."

Honestly, Tarkovsky is right to say this. I think there’s a general misunderstanding in cinema that art should be “for everyone,” which simply isn’t true. Art should be personal, challenging, and audacious, and modern consensus culture has really distorted that understanding.

PSA for all my AI artists and filmmakers out there. Slop gets millions of views, but it usually stops there. Meaningful/narrative AI works receive a few thousand views but typically lead to real-world jobs and applications. I speak from experience. Continue to produce quality work and assume that you are telling the world (investors, financiers, producers, and executives) that this is the level you are capable of producing consistently. You never know which piece someone might see and associate with you forever.

My parents didn’t let us listen to Metal. Was devil worshipping music. Hard to see how they were wrong. Pantera used pentagrams. Even if “ironic,” or “art,” it’s demonic symbolism. Later in life I tried. Couldn’t stomach it. Made me physically ill. It’s the sound of demons.
