Doesn't this solve the perceived existential risk to Bitcoin? If not, what am I missing? (I do not think the risk of lost / old Bitcoin in unupgraded wallets is remotely existential) github.com/avihu28/Quantuโ€ฆ

bitcoin is awesome because every once in a while there will be some big impending concern (like quantum computing) that nobody knows how to solve and then some random giga-brain named avihu just drops paper out of nowhere that solves it

$GOOG not long ago published a paper that validates quantum risk and the need to face it ASAP. Here's some interesting takes on what it means for crypto and why we hold $LAES. $BTC proves ownership using ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm). When you send $BTC, your wallet signs the transaction with a private key. The public key is visible on-chain. The entire security model assumes no one can reverse-engineer the private key from it. Quantum computers cracks that assumption. Breaking that encryption now requires <500K physical qubits โ€” 20x fewer than Google's own 2019 estimate. This reduction came from engineers optimizing circuit design, error correction, and qubit layout. Engineering progress is continuous and predictable. The numbers are hard to ignore: โ†’ Deriving a private key takes ~9 min. Bitcoin's block window is ~10 min. Accounting for network delays and variable block times, that gives an attacker a ~41% success rate at hijacking a live transaction before it confirms. โ†’ ~6.9M $BTC (32% of supply) already has exposed public keys from wallets that previously sent transactions. Those keys are permanently on-chain. No race against the clock, a quantum attacker can crack them whenever. 2029 is the migration deadline (we talked about it in another post x.com/the_fat_pitch/โ€ฆ). $LAES (SEALSQ) post-quantum hardware, certificates, and cryptographic trust anchors are exactly what this transition demands. We've covered $LAES exposure to drones and satellites before โ€” crypto infrastructure is another validation of their first-mover positioning. We hold $LAES. Bitcoinโ€™s floor has compounded at ~32% per year over 10 years. What commodity markets taught me about Bitcoin: Constant trading is a losing game. You build wealth by owning scarce assets bought at a discount. BTC now: $68,350 Power-law trend now: $127,731 Robust floor now: $57,283 (P10, most robust) Power Law trend reaches $1M in ~7 years. Robust floor reaches $1M in ~11 years. That is a 10-year CAGR of ~32% per year for both the floor and the trend. Price is volatile but the underlying structure is not. That is the real signal not the headline price. Volatility is the distraction. Compounding structure is the signal.

I have noticed that a lot of Bitcoiners are some form of Christians. Even if they do not follow Christianity, a lot of them believe in god. I believe in family, values, and morals but I am not religious or believe in god. Am I an outlier? Do you guys believe in god?

The information war is already over. You just didnโ€™t realize you lost. AI is now flooding the internet with synthetic โ€œtruthโ€ at a scale no human can compete with. Not to inform youโ€ฆbut to overwhelm you. Because once you start questioning everythingโ€ฆ.you stop trusting your own mind. And when you donโ€™t trust your own mind anymore? Youโ€™ll accept someone elseโ€™s version of reality. Tell me Iโ€™m wrong. So that has me thinkingโ€ฆ What do you think is one thing that AI will never truly replace?

The most important and profound revolution right now has nothing to do with Bitcoin. It has nothing to do with robotics. It has nothing to do with even AI. It has everything to do with the increasing interest in spirituality and our growing understanding of and relationship with consciousness and the accelerating global awakening that is unfolding in real-time. The world is waking up.

@DBCrypt0 Two options to protect against it: 1. Use fiat or Ethereum (which are reversible in case of hack) 2. Use Bitcoin (where there is no human you can hack)

The most insane long game hack of all time! North Korea built an entire trading firm Conference passes In-person meetings Multiple countries Half a year of Telegram messages and working sessions Even $1M of their own capital deposited to look legitimate Then when all the pieces were in place they stole $280M Drift just released the full incident background and itโ€™s wild! Fall 2025: A "quant trading firm" approaches contributors of Drift at a major conference. They Follow up in person across multiple countries. Technically fluent. Verifiable backgrounds. Typical trust building stuff. December-March: They onboard a real Ecosystem Vault and attend working sessions They even deposit $1M to further build โ€˜trustโ€™ The long con had set in and by early 2026, these weren't strangers anymore They had now built a 6-month working relationship Then they share some repos which is routine stuff The attack vector: a VSCode/Cursor vulnerability flagged by the security community throughout late 2025. Opening a file was enough. Silent code execution. No prompt. No warning. Nothing. The moment the exploit fired, every Telegram message and trace of malware was scrubbed clean No record or trace left Every team managing meaningful TVL is a target and no one is safe from professional jobs such as this Six months of infiltration and a trusted relationship, not just a sketchy email link The bug is patched but the real attack vector was the relationship and patience How do you protect against that? ๐Ÿคฏ

Samson nails the most critical point the fiat media ignores: if quantum computing actually cracks classical encryption, the entire centralized banking system collapses instantaneously. Bitcoinโ€™s decentralized node network is the only thermodynamic architecture capable of migrating to a post-quantum standard while the legacy system burns. The panic is a manufactured psyop.
Simply Bitcoin@SimplyBitcoin

SAMSON MOW: โ€œQuantum is a nothing burger... I think itโ€™s just FUD. People are trying to manipulate the price down.โ€ โ€œQuantum computing is not a threat, and it wonโ€™t be for 10 to 20 years.โ€ โ€œBitcoin will be able to react far quicker than the financial system.โ€

USDC represents over 50% of stablecoin supply on solana and is the defacto stable for defi during the drift hack, @circle had 6 hrs to freeze funds, but they did nothing in fact, NK hackers probably knew they wouldn't do anything meanwhile, @USDT0_to were able to freeze their solana cross-chain infra within 90 min of the hack worth asking why USDC has maintained such dominance on solana, also considering that a huge chunk of that rev actually goes to coinbase/base
