1. there's no GoW in ps1
2. in the first game kratos wasn't even the GoW until the end of the game
3. in the 2nd game he was the GoW only at the beginning of the game and then Zeus basically drained his godly powers

Kratos had probably the best character arc in gaming. He started as a man consumed by vengeance but by the end of his journey he had finally taken responsibility for his actions and come to terms with his loss and grief. Watching him transform from a destructive God of War into a symbol of hope was incredibly powerful and inspiring. That's why GoW Ragnarok will always mean a lot to me.
