Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to all our members who nominated their student's excellent work for consideration - both subcommittees thoroughly enjoyed reading these submissions! There is such breadth and depth in French Studies, and we hope to see that grow more.

The Douglas Johnson Memorial Prize was awarded to Sadie Golen (St Andrews) for a 'highly perceptive' and 'nuanced, convincingly argued' dissertation entitled 'Let Them Eat Bread? the Baguette as a Tool of Gastronomic Colonialism in Senegal'.

It was an exceptional year for our undergraduate prizes - there were lots of excellent submissions to both the Douglas Johnson and the Brian Darling prizes, and our judging panels had their work cut out for them in choosing! But there has to be a winner... 🥁 🥁 🥁
