I’m at the CD7 DFL convention, where we have over 200 guests and every single delegate slot is filled. We’ve gaveled in and are getting started!

Got to check out a new (to me) coffeehouse (silverbird coffee & more), and work on DFL Progressive Caucus planning with our delightful chair. Silverbird is definitely added to my rotation of coffee shops to work out of.

I'm told people are upset with the statement I've put out as Chair of Mpls DFL. No one has said anything directly to me, though. If you are upset, my email is available. That said, as a proud Black woman, I will always stand up for my trans neighbors. Our fights are connected.

@ayanajsk But the neighbors ARE speaking directly to you right here in the public square. Moving this to a private email only hides the conversation from the community you claim to want to educate.

I couldn't agree more. As the first Black woman to Chair the Minneapolis DFL, I want people of all marginalized identities, including Black people, to meaningfully, authentically, and safely engage in the DFL. And rest assured, I won't be quiet about it!

When we ran for Minneapolis DFL leadership, we stated we would educate neighbors on the DFL process so that they can feel empowered. We cannot have State DFL Committees undermining participation in our process. The CoC must be reconstructed to uphold our DFL values. End 🧵
