BREAKING: A terrorist attack has occurred at a Pakistani Rangers compound in Karachi, Pakistan. So far, 8 people are dead, 5 of whom are terrorists responsible for the attack, and 3 are Pakistan Rangers personnel. The assailants responsible are Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA), an offshoot of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP). This group was also responsible for the terrorist attack in Islamabad late last year that killed 12 individuals.

The Israeli government sanctioned an aerial strike against Pakistan's Kahuta in the 80s. Emboldened to delusions by its successful Osirak Power Plant attack where Israeli Air Force successfully neutralized Saddam's nuclear programme, the Israelis planned to replicate it. David Ivry (later Israeli Ambassador to US), Rafael Eitan, and Yitzhak Hofi - the Israeli planners of the Osirak Attack - were brought out of retirement for the endeavor. A model of Kahuta was prepared in the Negev Desert. The IAF successfully struck the model. But the reality was the different. The first great setback to it came a couple of years earlier when Israel's principal spy in Pakistan, Pol Le Gourriérec, the serving French Ambasssdor to Pakistan, was outed by ISI and beaten black and blue on the road to Kahuta. During the beating, he exposed much of the Israeli spy network in Pakistan. Soon thereafter, Indian PM Moaraji Desi - out of sheer arrogance - relayed precise information gathered by Indian spies about Kahuta to President Zia, leading to the bloodiest night in R&AW's history till date. So, Israeli-Indian information networks in Pakistan were crippled in a short span. Hence, they lacked real-time actionable intelligence. The second massive setback to Israel came when a Pakistani Brigadier deputed in Amman, Jordan received alarming intelligence of two Israeli squardons being "missing". He relayed the information back to Pakistan, expecting a looming Israeli assault on one of Israel's neighbors. Turns out, the fighter jets were being actively deployed to Jamnagar in Indian Gujarat and Udhampur in IIOJK - in Pakistan's backyard to strike Kahuta. The Israeli surprise factor was lost and the plan became a dead-end. That was when President Zia famously remarked "I will tie a nuke to a donkey and send it to blow up Haifa". Indira Gandhi was threatened out of providing bases to Israel by Pakistan and the sane advice of her own military advisors. So, the Israeli plan to strike Pakistan - and be wiped off the map in return - never materialized. But let there be no doubt as peddled by some with vested interests: Israel left no stone unturned in its insidious, failed attempt to strike Pakistan's nuclear programme. It was the sheer skill of Pakistani counter-intelligence, Pakistan's offensive defense posture, and the Almighty's providence that made sure Kahuta stood so the rest of Pakistan could stand safe and secure.
