@dollzls def not biased at all here but the reason I have her as my pro is that to be on par with powerful men but constantly have to prove yourself against their positions and only offered freedom insofar as you are useful to the state is an intensely *transfeminized* position

@dollzls this is a really interesting read on Hiyuki and one I really really dig. shes collared by the Kamunabi, and the one thing I will point out is that she *does* go against orders to help Chihiro. She's pulling at the edges of the leash she's bound by.

the rest want him dead for being a traitor & he blames himself for a sucide that wasn't his fault. at one point i even thought that despite having relatives he has no family, & despite having a house he has no home (paralleling chihiro who has no relatives but has a found family)

I made some big progress in material science but intentionally wrote all my research notes in gibberish so it couldn't be recreated without me. I was right to do so because weapons companies got very interested and I had to burn the notes after they offered millions in funding

@Horrorlogium thank you!!! this is high praise. I do wonder how we'll see their relationship shift in Part 2. I imagine part of the reason Shiba is one of the focal points of the flashback is to explain some how he and Chihiro will relate differently as Chihiro strikes a new path

@Horrorlogium @DCeo_00 That single-minded determination that nearly gets Chihiro killed, over and over, is also his greatest strength. He can push himself past limits no one else can, and inspires the people around him to do the same. And he can have that Clarity bc Shiba is there to catch him.
