The decision of the Broadcasting Standards Authority that it has jurisdiction over The Platform is breathtaking in its audacity. It has singlehandedly decided it knows better than the regulatory framework it operates under and that it should regulate the entire internet in New Zealand. The BSA even acknowledges in its decision that there is a regulatory gap between the Act and the modern world of communications - but has decided it can make the staggering leap to bridge that gap by ‘interpreting’ the law. This is not interpretation – this is obviously a case of targeting an outlet, in this case The Platform, not because it believes the regulatory framework applies to it, but because it disagrees with the content of what it is communicating. That is an egregious case of overreach and total fascist behaviour. The BSA has crossed a line. As far as New Zealand First is concerned, this decision commences a process that has to see the end of the BSA. It is no longer fit for purpose, and decisions like this are frankly dangerous to democratic discourse.

The conflict in the Middle East is directly leading to higher prices at the pump in New Zealand. That’s affecting households and businesses across the country, but the Government can’t afford to ease the pressure for everyone. We can’t repeat the mistakes of Covid where excessive spending led to higher inflation and more debt. We have to get the balance right. The most sensible and affordable thing for our government to do is provide timely, temporary, and targeted support to those who need it most. We’ve already announced that 143,000 low-and middle-income working families will receive an extra $50 a week to help with rising fuel costs. And from tomorrow, more than a million New Zealanders will also get an increase to the financial support they receive from the government. Nearly 1 million superannuitants get a boost – for a married couple on Super, that’s up over $50 more a fortnight. 280,000 families will get more through Family Tax Credits - up to $1,050 extra a year. Students and beneficiaries will get around $20 more a fortnight. We’ve also made changes to Working for Families, which will support 140,000 more households. That’s on top of the tax relief we’ve already delivered and FamilyBoost support for families with kids in early childcare. We’re also boosting KiwiSaver, helping you grow savings faster for your first home or retirement. We can’t control global fuel prices, but we are focused on helping Kiwis with targeted support that New Zealand can afford.

True soul Look inside Queenstown Lmao
Inside Rugby With Mark@insiderugbymark

This is what rugby in New Zealand really looks like. While the world watches the All Blacks under the bright lights of Eden Park, the true soul of New Zealand rugby lives in places like this, Queenstown Rugby Club, nestled among the peaks and valleys of one of the most beautiful corners of the earth. If you’ve never experienced club rugby in New Zealand, let me paint the picture for you. You arrive and you’re greeted with a warm “Kia Ora” from the local whānau. Within minutes you feel like you belong. Someone hands you a hot mince pie straight from the clubroom oven. A cold beer is placed in your hand. Before you know it, you’re chatting with the Under 7s coach, the senior club captain, and the old boy who’s been volunteering here for forty years. From the little ones chasing the ball on Saturday morning to the town’s first XV battling it out in the afternoon, everyone looks out for each other. You’ll see raffles being drawn, bingo nights being organised, and volunteers giving up their weekends so the club can keep the lights on and the jerseys clean. This is the ecosystem that produces some of the nicest, toughest, and most grounded human beings on the planet. In an era where rugby often feels dominated by big stadiums, money, TV deals and social media, places like Queenstown Rugby Club remind us what the game was built on, community, belonging, and connection. So if you ever find yourself in New Zealand, do yourself a favor. Don’t just watch the All Blacks on TV. Come and stand on the sideline at a local club. You’ll be welcomed like family. And you might just fall in love with rugby all over again. Kia Ora from the South Island ❤️ #RugbyIsCommunity #NewZealandRugby #GrassrootsRugby #QueenstownRugby

The nostalgia for a Luxon “Ardern moment” on Iran is telling. It reflects a media culture still chasing emotional theatre rather. Perhaps it is a welcome shift that constant camera exposure, performative empathy, and crisis branding are no longer the default. If a vacuum of drama appears, some in the media are more than capable of filling it themselves.

This is what I love about X. “I don’t agree with you so you’re a dumbfuck retard with cte and you got punched in the face for a living so your opinion means nothing”…. I still hope you have a great day and don’t treat people in real life this way

@IamTheImmortal What I’ve learned from this past week. Matt brown is a retard. Dumbfuck, if there is no “god”….. Then your “martial arts journey” is nothing more than random atoms moving through space and time. Doesn’t mean shit. It’s obvious you’ve been hit in the head too many times

JUST IN: Milwaukee officer clings to truck of wanted felon during insane fatal OIS On Milwaukee’s south side, officers and a corrections agent tried to take 35-year-old wanted suspect Jonathan Otto into custody near 12th and Burnham. Otto refused commands to exit his flatbed truck. When an officer attempted to remove him, Otto sped away with the 46-year-old officer still holding onto the driver’s door. Bodycam video shows the officer clinging to the moving vehicle for several blocks while repeatedly ordering Otto to stop and eventually threatening to shoot. Near 15th and Grant, the officer fired, fatally striking Otto. The officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and placed on administrative duty. Otto was wanted for new allegations of strangulation and assault charges.
