The reputation from hip hop is a major PR force multiplier for young black males in USA and worldwide and the reputation for crime in fact adds to it. Ofc the conservative claim that “CIA-“ hip hop “caused” black crime is also factually false but the premise here itself is dumb.

After the gushing over pastries, delight at the Royal speech and coverage of the Ambassadorial leak its worth putting Trump’s speech in its American political context. With the rise of identity politics and the white majority progressively shrinking into a plurality, the US Right has moved away from simply civic nationalism and Ronald Reagan lauding a “nation of immigrants.” Today on the Right, J.D. Vance argues that “America is not just an idea. We’re a particular place, with a particular people, and a particular set of beliefs.” This translates as a rediscovery of much of the white America’s ethnic origins and ancestor stories with it a new attitude towards to Britain. I’ve even heard it referred to in some circles as “our Israel” — hence such concern about its ethnic character. The speechwriter here is using the King’s visit to continue making an argument about who Americans are.
