They canโt (wonโt?) revert the email change, and canโt (wonโt?) remove the 2FA.

@troyhunt thought Iโd detail a rather poor security story with Microsoft.
My sonโs MS account got hacked yesterday. Donโt know how, strong password and passkey. No 2FA as is a pain on Xbox app.
Hacker removed passkey, changed recovery email and added 2FA.

Canโt password reset or use recovery as they rely on 2FA.
Support have investigated and found it has had a unauthorised access.
But, they canโt do anything! Purchases = gone. OneDrive files = gone!
