The tributes I have seen for David Lynch today are a testament beyond his artistic contribution but to his nature as a truly generous person. He gave to his viewers some of the greatest modern cinema, but to his friends and collaborators, it’s clear he gave so much more.

To me, one of the best lessons we could learn from David Lynch is to stop demanding explanations of every piece of art from the artist who made it and instead let the art talk and decide what it means individually to you. What a richer way to experience the world.

David Lynch gave us the language we needed to better articulate the indescribable strangeness of our shared reality. “Lynchian” is so overused because it’s a viscerally understandable word without any known synonyms. I can’t imagine a more beautiful artistic legacy than that.

Quadeca keeps saying that certain vinyls are “limited” but then restocking and rereleasing them. I have actually lost money because of this and it feels very disingenuous
