@Chrisxy24 Ramirez looked elite that night too, prime Zurdo was scary.

In 2021, Yunieski Gonzalez received the highest number of punches to the face of any boxer that year.
Yet he never touched the canvas.
He never wrapped his arms around Zurdo Ramirez to steal a breath.
He never looked for a way out.
He simply stood there and fought.
It was a WBA light heavyweight title eliminator — the winner earning the right to challenge for Dmitry Bivol’s crown.
That version of Ramirez would’ve given plenty of elite light heavyweights nightmares.
Could he have beaten Artur Beterbiev?
Maybe not.
Could he have pushed him into deep waters and made it a war.
Absolutely #boxing

Sugar Ray Leonard defeated Marvin Hagler in one of boxing's most controversial decisions at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, 1987.
When asked if he could have gone 15 rounds, Ray said: "I was exhausted in the 12th round but I would have found a way to go three more rounds with Hagler."
HBO's brilliant Larry Merchant then asked if Hagler could have demanded the fight was scheduled for the longer distance.

@boxingfx1 Tyson was fighting every month basically. No wonder he looked different from everyone else at that age.

Remember: this wasn't just a fight—it was unfinished business.
The first fight between Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora was an all-out war. Twelve brutal rounds, nonstop action, controversy, and a razor-close decision that left Chisora furious and demanding a rematch.
For two years, the bad blood simmered.
Then they met again.
The rematch somehow became even more heated. Round after round, both men traded punches, refusing to back down. Chisora kept marching forward. Whyte kept firing back.
Then in Round 11, after nearly 30 minutes of war between the two fights, Whyte landed a left hook so perfect that it instantly ended one of boxing's greatest modern rivalries. #boxing
A brutal ending to a legendary heavyweight story.

The Manny Pacquiao Floyd was TERRIFIED to Fight
Pacquiao vs Cotto 2009. One of the best fights ever. Floyd wanted none of this smaller fighter. This is the Pacquiao that many wish Floyd would of fought. Did fight him 5 years later after Manny had been knocked out by Marquez in their 4th fight. Manny was no longer a killer.

In 2015, undefeated rising boxing star Prichard Colón’s life changed forever. During a match against Terrel Williams, he was repeatedly struck with illegal "rabbit punches" to the back of the head, causing a massive brain hemorrhage that left him in a 221-day coma and caused permanent brain damage. 💔
Today, under his mother's dedicated care, he continues to fight daily through therapy. His tragedy birthed the "Prichard Colón Rule" to protect modern fighters from back-of-the-head strikes. A true honorary champion. 🙏🥊

Merab Dvalishvili says he hasn't been able to sleep the last 2 weeks because of Ilia Topuria's loss to Justin Gaethje 💔
"It wasn't one sided, Ilia dominated the first two rounds. He pretty much finished Justin Gaethje. If Ilia went to hammer fist, Justin Gaethje was done."

Tank’s legal issues are derailing a prime career at a bad time. WBA’s recess move is fair to keep the division active, but it highlights how off-ring problems keep costing elite fighters big opportunities—hope he sorts it out fast.

The WBAs official announcement on why Tank Davis is now a champion in recess: “According to public information, Tank is facing an ongoing legal proceeding, with a possibility that such proceeding may result in a trial and pretrial preparation, as well as a possible conviction, all of which could prevent or impede him from fulfilling his sporting obligations in the short and medium term.”

Daniel Dubois entered his first WBA (Regular) heavyweight title defense as the clear favorite, while Kevin Lerena promised he had come to shock the world. Few expected what followed.
Dropped three times in a chaotic opening round, Dubois had the crowd fearing a massive upset. But he regrouped, turned the fight around, and overwhelmed Lerena with his trademark power.
A dramatic third-round stoppage completed one of the most remarkable comebacks in recent heavyweight title history, proving both Dubois' resilience and devastating punching power.

@boxingfx1 Good stoppage. I love it when referees protect the fighters by stopping a fight before someone gets killed.
