@FrunkToTrunk @SawyerMerritt @JeebsTX @Tesla I think the answer is since the $59k truck is selling at low margins they already had way more interest w/o advertising than Tesla wanted. Hence Elon immediately saying it would only last a week. This gets tons on the road where visibility drives more sales at a higher margin

@SawyerMerritt @JeebsTX @Tesla Genuine question, if Tesla doesn't advertise these temporary opportunities, then how can they maximize sales of these temporary opportunities? Deliveries up 6% Q1 YoY, is the answer, those results are acceptable enough to not change the gameplan?

@AustinAirport Which checkpoint do I use for Touchless PreCheck? Flying out in the morning and it's the first time I'll be using that. Don't see that called out on your website.

@LamarMK Early non-FS truck 43K VIN October ‘24 build had PCS replaced 3 weeks ago at about 27k miles. It’s not just the very early builds.

Cybertruck PCS failures are happening back to back. It happened to my first truck VIN 2K, and recently happened to my new Cybertruck VIN 12K. I didn't say anything publicly at first because I didn't want to put Tesla in a bad light. But now I'm seeing someone post about a PCS failure almost daily, so I think it's best to say something about the issue. To my knowledge, this is only happening to older trucks. Newer trucks should not need to worry about this. Tesla has a new PCS revision ending in T2-G. If yours fails, double check with your service team that you're getting the latest version. I hope this new revision finally resolves the problem. The fun part? I got to drive a Cyberbeast while mine was being fixed, and that truck's performance is unmatched. It's incredibly fast. My suggestion to Tesla: fix any truck that develops a PCS issue, whether in or out of warranty. At some point, the older PCS versions will fail. Also, when your truck slows charging to 24A after a PCS failure is detected, it will only last a couple of days before completely failing. Schedule service as soon as you notice it, and Tesla will get you back up and running quickly. @elonmusk @wmorrill3 @cybertruck @Tesla @tesla_na

@BeardedTesla I have a 43xxx vin truck made in October’24. One of the first non-FS. PCS went out a few weeks ago. Speculation there was something in a software update that made them fail. Who knows?

@teslascope I had weird issues signing in last night on my home (Google fiber/wifi) network but it worked if i turned off WiFi and used the mobile network or connected my Mac to a hotspot.

We can confirm that a downtime occurred with Tesla's infrastructure between 5:30 AM and 7:50 AM (PST), impacting both third-party apps and the official Tesla mobile app. Issues such as this do not affect vehicle phone keys, so customers were not locked out.

@SDembraski Also a member of the blue-wrapped Cybertruck gang and I've had a lot of interactions like you describe. Almost to a person they enjoy it after riding in it even if the aesthetics are just too much for them. And very often hear "The blue actually makes it look good!"

Today I was with some local friends here in WI. They know I have the CT. We were in their Toyota Highlander. They all said how they liked my CT and the blue color helped, but it’s not for them. They didn’t say it any negative way. They referenced how it looks like dumpster. I said I get it. Told them how I loved it and it’s really nice and some of the features. Was funny my son was sticking up for it to their daughter who said she didn’t like it at all. 🤣 I did say I’d like to have them take it for a ride sometime. It may change their view. But my thought is. It helps me to see there is decent size amount of people who would never buy it clearly based on looks. It truly is one of the best vehicles out there with options. But sad so many just say no without giving it a fair chance. Hoping as more are out there on the streets, it is more accepted and people change their view.

Tesla seems to be limiting Robotaxi to just the original 19sq mile service area this afternoon No availability anywhere else since this morning via the tracker and when I entered a robotaxi this afternoon it wouldn’t let me set destination to anywhere outside the highlighted region, even though it was supervised.

@SDembraski This seems to be related to Park Assist taking a little while to load after the truck isn’t driven for a while. Definitely something they’ll be able to fix.

Thoughts on FSD 14.2.2.1 with my Cybertruck. So human like. Smooth. Made lane changes as I would and didn’t when I wouldn’t have either. Very impressive. Sentient incoming. One thing I noticed a few times is the Start Self Driving button didn’t want to engage a few times. I had to move truck forward or backwards few feet to get button to light up to engage. Once engaged it’s great. Anyone else have this issue?

@DirtyTesLa I JUST had this happen to me in Tyler, Texas. Turned into the parking lot of the supercharger, but then went the wrong direction away from the chargers. Never had this issue with this charger before.

FSD 14.2.2.1 FAIL at this supercharger. It pulled into the parking lot and then turned away from the supercharger. If I didn't take over, it was going to continue on the trip and just skip this charging stop 😂

@SDembraski Yeah, it's not a great idea because we are still liable. It definitely can still make a bad mistake. Even v15 and 16 can. I'll only be comfortable disassociating when Tesla says they are liable

FSD 14.2.1.25 did a great job squeezing past this truck on the dirt road. I didn't notice at the time because I was texting, but cool.

@ethanmckanna I saw 2 of their validation vehicles Friday evening in Pflugerville so I think another expansion north is imminent. May coincide with the removal of safety monitors and (hopefully) a boost in the number of vehicles

@ethanmckanna Probably smarter to market it that way rather than as an Uber replacement since they can’t anywhere near meet demand yet.

Interesting email from Tesla this evening. They are marketing the Robotaxi app as "Full Self-Driving (Supervised) rides" and "Model Y Rideshares"

@chuckcook @Tesla I can't believe everyone is missing that this is how Tesla will solve the problem of "How does the cop know if I was driving or the car was?" That data will be there if it's needed. Maybe a button that saves it when you get a ticket or accident.

@ethanmckanna It sure seems like they are aiming for the 14.3 branch to start unsupervised in their robotaxi markets. If they deploy 14.2 point releases at about the same quantity and rate as they did 14.1, yeah looks like it could slip to early next year.

There is only a 5% chance now that Tesla removes safety monitors in Austin by the end of the year
Ethan McKanna@ethanmckanna

Right now @Kalshi projects a 9% chance of Tesla removing safety monitors and opening robotaxi to the public by the end of the year

@ethanmckanna On 14 yeah even have a case it has consistently handles a “Road Closed to Thru Traffic” where it will slow down, with its blinker on like it’s going to turn, then re-route when it realizes it can’t get all the way through. The road isn’t blocked, just the sign.

I don’t know if Tesla has someone remotely doing this but the car has been on point with a few road closures I through at it. Didn’t even slow down, just immediate change of navigation and car is on its way

@FutureAZA I work in downtown Austin and every time I open the app I get a reasonable 7-15 minute pickup time. The issue, I think, is those aren’t accurate. The one time I attempted to book a ride that started slipping immediately and eventually went to 30 minutes so I canceled.

I attempted to take a @robotaxi ride today from multiple different locations and time of day (from 9:00 AM to about 3:00 PM in Austin but never could do so. I always got a “High Service Demand” message … I really hope @Tesla is about to go unsupervised and greatly plus up the vehicle fleet as the service is essentially unusable right now.

@SDembraski I really wish we could set a preference to back in. Just had it nose in and nope, don’t like that at all. But same, don’t want to impact that 100% FSD stat.

FSD 14.2 been amazing but today it’s deciding to park on sides and back of locations. 🤣 It’s cold and very windy but don’t want to lose my 100% FSD 🤣🤣 It parking better at least.
