Let's get some perspective here! Bosnia was the war-torn country with 1,600 children killed in Sarajevo alone from Serbian-orchestrated aggression. Nato only acted when Milosevic rejected all mediation attempts. Your self-pity is misplaced and tasteless in the circumstances.

Novak Djokovic: “I came from a war torn country. My dad put a ten dollar bill when I was 12 and said this is all we have. He said if you want to play this expensive sport you have to step it up. I had to mature a lot earlier than I was supposed to.”

With a powerful panel exploring how oral history is practiced today and why it remains essential for documenting truth, safeguarding memory, and strengthening public understanding of genocide and mass atrocity, this session brings together leading experts whose work spans oral history methodology, cultural anthropology, psychological support, and international memory studies.
Panelists are Prof. Alessandro Portelli, renowned oral historian and retired professor from the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” whose pioneering work has shaped the field globally; Prof. Natalia Khanenko-Friesen, Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, an expert in oral history, diaspora studies, and contemporary Ukraine and Azra Frlj, President of the Association “Progres,” psychologist and trauma-informed practitioner focused on peacebuilding and psychosocial support.
These panelists will address how oral history practices are evolving today, ethical responsibilities in testimony collection and storytelling, and also the contemporary relevance of oral histories in conflict and post-conflict societies.
Organized within the Srebrenica Outreach Project and supported by the Government of the United Kingdom (@JulianReillyUK), this conference brings together leading voices in oral history, archiving, transitional justice, and genocide studies. The focus of the program is on building evidence-based narratives and ensuring the long-term preservation of survivor testimonies for future generations.

@SkenderVakuf “the Chairman of the Presidency starts from the principles of reality, unlike HDZ's psychotic hawks, who drown in their own desires. While Komšić profiles himself as an adult in the room, Zovko, Primorac, Džeba and others leave the impression of adventurers” Bravo @SkenderVakuf

I grieve the suffering of Palestinian civilians, including children, and condemn without reservation the violence in Gaza and the brutal policies being applied by Israel. I condemn the genocide and stand with victims, humanity, and demand accountability and justice.
At the same time, I cherish the Jewish community in Ireland, their history, and contributions to our shared society. Herzog Park is named for Chaim Herzog, born in Belfast and raised in Dublin, who was the son of the first Chief Rabbi of Ireland. Erasing such symbols of Irish‑Jewish heritage sends a dangerous message. Justice is advanced through equality, inter-faith solidarity, and protecting memory, not erasure.
