Club Statement from Worcester Raiders : 🔴⚫️
As we continue to build Worcester Raiders FC from top to bottom.
It has become inevitable that we will need to find a permanent home for all of our teams.
With this in mind we will not be renewing our lease at Sixways Stadium after being tenants for 5 years.
We wish to thank them in supporting the growth of Worcester Raiders FC.
We have exciting times ahead for all involved. Further details will be released in due course.
#WeAreRaiders
Wish it could be Christmas every day?
Rail passengers don't: no trains on 25 Dec and Network Rail engineering affecting other days.
Key issues this festive season:
Great Western line closed to/from London Paddington.
Midland main line closed at St Pancras.

As we reclaim the narrative let us all remember the global majority are of the first ones.

Today's Twitter Poll: Would you support or oppose Universities being allowed to increase Tuition Fees with inflation? The tuition fee cap was set at £9,000 in 2012 and rose to £9,250 in 2017 it has been frozen since meaning substantial real term cuts to universities income from home undergrad students, which has left some struggling. Which is closest to your view?
@rizhusain It was obviously different back then? The fact that they taught you everything was free. Lecturers, rent, gas, electricity, building maintenance, secretaries, cleaning staff, teachers, infrastructure.etc
Makes you wonder why people become Lecturers if they have to work for free?
@rizhusain@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis IT'S NOT FREE. What part of that don't you get? The taxpayers pay. Including those on minimum wage. So stop calling it free. And yes many took advantage of it
@broken6@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis The infrastructure is already there.
Everyone who went to university between 1962 and 1990 had free education, paid for by the then Local Education Authorities.
Just because it’s free it doesn’t mean people take it for granted.
@rizhusain@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis So you want "free" University and somehow you know how to tax everyone "fairly" to pay for it? How much will the infrastructure and work involved cost? But, I say again. Free education up until 18 and if you're not prepared to invest in yourself, are you serious about it?
@broken6@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis What you put into the economy is irrelevant to what I said.
What I said was that you would be able to put MORE into society rather than a finance company ripping people off.
If we tax everyone fairly (which we don’t do) & not let people steal public money, it’s affordable.
@rizhusain@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis You have no idea how much I put into the economy. If I stuck with engineering, I would be earning a lot less.
Plus I go back to my original point. The country is broke and I'd rather the billions it would cost to finance Harry Potter degrees, be put into the NHS.
@broken6@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis Good for you.
But you’d be able to contribute more money to society if you were able to spend the your loan money on other things, eg restaurants, leisure services, the arts, maybe a healthier lifestyle (which costs more).
Your loan money would help keep the economy afloat.
@rizhusain@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis Yes. Got a 2.1 in Engineering. I then decided to take up a plumbing apprenticeship. Hopefully I will pay the full student fees back if everything continues as it does now. I chose to invest in my future, even if I took another path. It would be wrong for someone else to pay
@broken6@rizhusain@DavidFl79241096@MartinSLewis Thats totally incorrect.
Education Fees are Free in Scotland for People who live there. Always have been. You only pay if you have already done the same level, but want to study a different course same level, but not if it's a higher level.
People not living here have to pay.
@GlennMatthews1@rizhusain@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis You've conveniently picked on 10% of courses. And there's a discussion to had about STEM subjects. But my point is still the same. Why should poor people pay for someone to get a higher paid job/career? Why not invest in yourself? If your that passionate?
@broken6@rizhusain@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis The people going to university are being trained to potentially perform medial operations on you, invent products that make your life easier and create businesses that create jobs and pay tax to assist your life in the future.
Consider the benefits, not just the short term costs.
@DavidFl79241096@defab14_defab@MartinSLewis They're taking 1.5 billion off pensioners, but you want 10's of billions paid to students? Have you heard there's no money? Why wouldn't someone over 18 want to invest in their own future? Rather than crippling the rest of the country. We get free education up to 18. Perfect!
