@JohnHeaphy5 A bottle return style scheme (pay a premium, get a rebate at store recycling points) could drive proper disposal. But push tax too high and users will go to the black market evading all tax, or back to cigarettes, raising cancer rates. Balance is key and tough to get right.

@callumsomm put a 500% tax on all vapes not many people are going to keep throwing them away if they cost £50 + per device.

This isn't just about #vapes, it’s consumer behaviour. The UK recycles 44.6% of household waste, of which DEFRA tells us 50.2% is burned. We need a national Li-ion battery #recycling system, not fragmented council chaos. Store return kiosks, clear bin labels, proper messaging.

@DavidHyett6283 I know of Recyclus, and still hold #TM1 shares. It's the collation and management of the battery waste that needs to be coordinated better on a national level so more of it can become feedstock for such solutions rather than reach landfill.
