Yesterday evening, crews responded to Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center for a medical call involving a minor. CAFMA Engine 59, Rescue 58, and Battalion 3 assessed the patient on scene and supported a Native Air transport to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Engineer/Paramedic Harper recently visited Lake Valley Elementary, reading to students and sharing a few laughs. Moments like these help us connect with the next generation, long before they ever need us on an emergency call.

CAFMA has earned Accredited Agency status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (#CFAI). This five-year designation recognizes the agency meets the highest standards for planning, performance, and accountability.

For nearly a decade, YC Fire students have trained at CARTA, gaining hands-on experience through live fire exercises and practical training. The new gym expands that environment, ensuring students & CAFMA recruits are physically prepared for the realities of modern firefighting.

Together, the organizations outfitted the space with fitness & training equipment designed to support firefighter conditioning, providing a facility where CAFMA recruits & Firefighter 1 & 2 students can develop the strength, endurance, & skills essential for modern firefighting.

Yesterday, CAFMA responded to a mulch pile fire at the MDI Rock plant along 169 in Dewey, AZ. Multiple engine companies acted quickly to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading into the surrounding wildland. 2 MDI employees assisted using the company’s water tender.

CAFMA responded to a shed fire Thursday afternoon near Moon Shadow Road and Westwind Road in Chino Valley. Rapid response and extinguishment prevented the fire from spreading to nearby grass and trees or extending to a water tank.
