I will need to revisit American sports history, but I suspect similar iterative exploitations have driven (and still drive) revolutions in North American sports. Arsenal's edge seems very American. (I don't have the set yet, but I'm sure I can come up with a strong case.)

In football, such revolutions have historically been driven by great players + synergy + clear direction. Arsenal are demonstrating, in one sense, that you can devise and exploit rule-based systems to create new possibilities. In set-pieces, questions like: – What do the Laws of the Game (LOtG) allow? – What do the LOtG neither allow nor ban? – Can we assume the consensus interoperation of the LOtG is outrightly misplaced? It is all very beautiful.

My problem with this is that Emegha was one of BlueCo's first signings for Strasbourg because Chelsea had been scouting him. He cost around €13m and at the time Strasbourg were not in a position to spend that much on a player. Let's say that without BlueCo, they wouldn't have signed Emegha whom they claim as theirs today. Of course, he's their player but they quickly forget that BlueCo is the reason they can dare to dream of signing this calibre of players in the first place.
