@ZachAllen75@caallmeeden@Ursen_ i agree, the way you initially worded it made it seem as if she can’t complain, when today, its barely enough to get by.
@chevseaa@caallmeeden@Ursen_ No disrespect but it seems like you’re missing the point of the convo. The actual dollar amount of her rent doesn’t matter it’s the percentage of her income. People shouldn’t just make enough money to only be able to live just to go to work. This system will fail at some point
@ZachAllen75@caallmeeden@Ursen_ Net pay is actually closer to $1,000 and not $1,100. Let’s subtract that. $190 left. Phone bill? Car Insurance? Savings? Pets? Kids? Etc.. Lol $350 rent is a blessing but yall pushing it with these made up scenarios
@caallmeeden@Ursen_ After taxes let’s say she has $1100 left. Minus $350 for rent is $750. - $40 a week for gas is $590. Say she eats off of $10 a day that’s $290 left for utilities and any other expenses. That fact she can’t make life work off of minimum wage with rent that cheap is the problem.
@mstrl21@mliebow@TaraBull I do not know. I agree that the corporations should be paying their employees enough. However the point is that knowing they do not and still choosing to eat there and NOT tip on top of that only contributes to the issue.
@chevseaa@mliebow@TaraBull why can not the Restaurant pay enough money to the employees so that they can live from it, like all other industrial countries can do? In Europe they can live from it and we are still giving tips for good service and such money is extra! And Restaurants are cheaper here!
@thrifty_ge67963@mliebow@TaraBull 1. That wasn’t stated. You’re a grown ass man, act like it!
2. You’re spending extra money at a corporación that doesn’t pay employees properly…but are okay with not tipping? You’ll blame the employee for working there and then spend money on the restaurant and not them?
@n21759766@mliebow@TaraBull Yes and that’s unfortunate but my point is, why go if you know that? Why not go somewhere better and even cheaper if yk employees are paid terribly? I hope everyone here realizes those restruants where tipping is how servers are paid, are MUCH more expensive!
@chevseaa@mliebow@TaraBull The rest of the world has restaurants. They pay staff enough. Tips are not expected and there’s no hate towards the customers when they don’t tip. They are able to balance their books. Americans apparently cannot
@mliebow@TaraBull “People don’t work for nothing” but then prove that waitresses do?? If you know they pay shit then why are you going and not tipping in the first place? The people in charge of this are almost never at the restaurant. And even if they were—this wouldn’t even be an issue.
