@ShriramKMurthi @ctklimansilver it was surprising! That said, this was a UX conference, and UXers tend to come from a wide variety of industries, including some that don't touch on CS or HCI. (I learned about ELIZA in the few CS classes I took at Brown, but it certain a focus in my CogSci classes.)

Just had a quite emotional, personal conversation w/ ChatGPT in voice mode, talking about stress, work-life balance. Interestingly I felt heard & warm. Never tried therapy before but this is probably it? Try it especially if you usually just use it as a productivity tool.

Very sad to announce that Eugene Charniak, a statistical NLP pioneer ("Charniak parsing"), inaugural class ACL fellow, etc., passed away this morning.
