After a seven-year hiatus, I've decided to show off another of my rest-home residents. Unlike me, they don't seem to age 😀 youtu.be/Zhyfz8SUkHg

@RosaleaBarker Haha. Thanks. Yea, I loved that dog avatar! BTW, I've just finished part 2 and added new pics to part 1, so check the link again to see those additions. Part 2 is linked from part 1

@classiccomputNZ Fascinating! Will share with the instructor I had for the History of Video Games course I did here at University of Hawaii earlier this year. Also, cheeky bugger choosing that particular dog for your avatar! lol

Interesting video. It's Twitter related but I imagine lots of platforms contain legacy systems held together by bits of string and glue which work, but are a complete mystery to current programmers/developers. Risky going forward I'm sure... youtu.be/TUbU-Zy29i0

@melswal @Foone Yes, I've washed dirty disks a number of times with great success BUT if the hub ring ever comes off (which is always possible), it's almost impossible to get the data off even if the ring is re-glued. Tolerances are too fine.

@Devilish_Design Dave do you mind if I add that photo to the System-80 archive site? Here somewhere #expansion" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">classic-computers.org.nz/system-80/hard…

Here's a slightly interesting S100 board. Contains 32k of dynamic RAM but it wasn't intended for use in an Altair, IMSAI, etc but for an EACA Video Genie with it's optional S100 expansion box.

@OzRetrocomp @Mr_Lurch Yes I think that figure came from Dick Smith himself when I interviewed him for the website content. Or it could have been mentioned in an advertisement at one stage. One of those two. The former I think. Hard to remember now given it was 20 years ago!

For some of us, this screen was once incredibly exciting, but if you weren’t there, you probably won’t understand why. (Note: In recent times, Scott Adams has graciously allowed people to share his old games.)
