Enterprises need privacy solutions that are simple, robust, and easy to operate - not systems that introduce systemic complexity and operational risk. SNARKs have been incredibly powerful for scalability, but using ZK as a primary building block for privacy adds significant complexity and fragility across the stack. There’s a reason standardized encryption schemes like AES have been the backbone of privacy for decades (e.g., in HTTPS) - they are simple, well-understood, and operationally reliable. I’ve learned this time and again over almost 15 years of bringing cryptography into production systems: SIMPLICITY is the #1 factor. This is exactly the approach we’ve taken at @sodabubblelabs - and it’s becoming clearer every day why it matters.

EY Global Blockchain Summit Day 3: Privacy Day First big takeaway: Ethereum is the institutional winner. Banks are building on it. Asset managers are deploying on it. The biggest financial institutions in the world are betting on it. Literally. The crypto market is a poor indicator of what's actually happening behind the scenes. The future of the global financial system is being built and deployed right now — and most people don't even realize it. The reality: permissioned blockchains failed to prove out.The preferred architecture for institutions and enterprises is now permissionless blockchains with native privacy. Public infrastructure. Privacy-based execution. The most sophisticated financial institutions, digital asset companies, and global services firms are building on Ethereum and its Layer 2s. These institutions will make the leap into DeFi once privacy and compliance are fully realized. And that moment is closer than most think. The end result: - Millions of transactions per second. - Billions of transactions per day. - Trillions of dollars in global assets — tokenized, settled, and managed on-chain. - All done compliantly and meeting global regulations. As Ethereum scales, so will its Layer 2s. The infrastructure is being built for exactly this. Enter the agents. Everyone will soon have access to sophisticated digital financial managers — AI-powered, always-on, operating across this new infrastructure. That will fuel hyper-growth and competition in the digital economy. The velocity of this is going to shock the world. But what about quantum? Google moved their quantum timeline up to 2029 this week, which spooked the Bitcoin market. But Ethereum has been building quantum resistance targeting a 2028 timeline for years. That quantum resistance will get passed down to Layer 2s and Roll-Ups. As quantum arrives, the digital asset ecosystem built on Ethereum will continue to become one of the hardest and most defensible technology layers in the world for financial infrastructure. You can doubt it. But the biggest financial institutions in the world are betting on it. And then — we took the stage. Towards the end of the day, I had the honor of presenting $COTI Nightfall to the summit.
