But you don’t own your home. I fail to see how this “centralizes power” any more than them taking my home. Fail paying your property taxes and they seize your home and land. I’d rather pay a higher sales tax that I can somewhat control on what I purchase than taxes on my home that keep rising forever yet if I fail to pay, I lose it. Property taxes generate about $24B in Ohio. I’d rather see them go after fraud and waste to recoup some of the money. And if my sales tax goes up, so be it as long as I get to keep my home.

This repeal is designed to centralize power, not benefit Ohioans. The revenue will have to be recouped somewhere else. Either via a sales tax increases to 15-20%, income tax increases to 11-15%, or shifting tax liability to utility companies, thus doubling your payments.
