@kent_simi @adb1146 @SawyerMerritt @Tesla I'll try to explain to you. The choice between a real product now they themselves acknowledged vs a dream and choosing the dream is a dumb thought process.

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe in new interview: "Later this year, we'll have full supervised point-to-point, which will be very similar to @Tesla's FSD. That will roll out to all of our Gen 2 vehicles and, of course, R2. Next year, we'll allow it to go unsupervised, so you can take your eyes off the road. The next step is achieving full capability for the vehicle to drive itself with no one in the car. We've been developing that for a while for our personal vehicles, but we also see it unlocking new business models, robotaxi being one of them. We took the decision to parter with Uber so we could focus on the tech and leverage them for their access to a big distribution channel. They're really a category of one. There's no one quite at their scale or reach." Full interview: youtube.com/watch?v=wP61dC…

@danieldefnotbot @adb1146 @SawyerMerritt @Tesla The guy clearly stated that if Rivian's tech is proven comparable to FSD then he will buy one. He didn't say he would buy a Rivian based on what the CEO said today. There's nothing dumb about that. It's dumb of you to call it a dumb thought process. There. I'm your mirror.

@scottbuscemi What were the first four words you wrote? Lol, he gives no actual context or feedback on how they’re doing it , he just says it’s going to happen. They don’t need 11,000,000,000 miles. They don’t need all the complex training data , nope ! Its like magic 🪄- suddenly boom 💥

If this works out, Rivian’s stock is WAY undervalued right now.

@adb1146 @SawyerMerritt @Tesla "Old hardware doesnt support current FSD so we're gonna invest in brand new anyway but of a different platform that's totally worse" these kinds of dumb thought process shouldn't be revealed online.

If this works anyway, close to the way that FSD does today this will be a major decision point for my wife in switching to Rivian. Just say that she’s frustrated the vehicle that she has now doesn’t have the hardware to support the current FSD stack would be a big reason why. Unfortunately, Tesla‘s decision to not invest in their current driver base when those people bought into the concept of FSD long before there was FSD will haunt them unfortunately for a long time.

History's first trillionaire is a guy who catches rockets out of the sky with chopsticks and beams internet to every dead zone on the planet. Same guy ships cars that drive themselves, humanoid robots for the factory floor, brain chips that let paralyzed people move a cursor with pure thought, and an AI running on a supercomputer his team stood up in months instead of years. And the people crashing out about his net worth are doing it on the app he owns. The same app governments spent years trying to censor. You cannot legislate a rocket into orbit.

SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell in new interview on a potential merger with @Tesla: "That might make Elon’s life a little easier. There’s no question that there are synergies between Tesla and SpaceX and our futures definitely there’s a convergence of what we’re all trying to accomplish in the future, but right now I’m focused on keeping the lights on here, keeping rockets in production, flying rockets, flying people, and critically providing broadband that don’t have access to to that critical capability. I’m really focused on that. I’m not focused on that part of the future."

@mikepat711 No I think Elon was pretty clear. You just don't want to accept it. He said there is a clear path to improvement and it does not feel right to roll out big knowing there's something big coming up in the pipeline. And that's around towards 3rd quarter.

As a TSLA investor, I haven’t felt more clueless about what’s going on/what’s coming next than I do right now. FSD is amazing, but the goalpost with Robotaxi keeps getting moved and I have no clue why. No clue when “reasoning” is going to make parking so good that it’ll see spots I don’t see. No clue when half the US population will have Robotaxi access. No clue what the final piece of the puzzle was etc. There were 7 new Robotaxi cities on a list for 1H26 in the Q4 deck, which ended up disappearing from the Q1 deck, and with 3 weeks left in 1H26, only 2 of 7 have hit. No clue why. Def would be awesome to have something like this. Or at the very least, some new revised roadmap from Tesla AI similar to what we got a year or two ago. I still have conviction in the long-term story here, but it’s weird how sometimes they choose to communicate with investors, and other times they’re vague/leave us totally clueless. I can’t tell if they’re about to go gangbusters or something isn’t going as planned/we’re cooked for a few more years.

@mikepat711 Zero chance it's braindead with all that compute and team. It has been working well 2 or 3 years ago.

Do we think Optimus V3 is completely dark rn because it’s absolutely insane/game changing and they just wanna give people whiplash when they’re ready to produce it? Or do we think it’s completely in the dark because it’s braindead and can’t actually do anything worth showing?
