Please, do not listen to people that say N10m , N20m, N30m, N50m isn’t a lot of money and cannot change your life. The fact that some of us have and are seen good money doesn’t remove the fact that those figures above are a lot of money. If you earn N1m monthly in Nigeria, you’re among the top 5% earners. That makes N10m a lot of money for the vast majority. Do not listen to dumb takes from people who sit on their brains day in, day out. Being in finance has taught me a lot. Walk with me Let’s say N30m hits your account now for the very first time. The initial instinct will be to start buying everything you have written down before in your notepads. -rent a new apartment -furnish it to taste -buy a car -set momsi and popsy up a little or send them some money. -Do a little cloth shopping, etc Those are good too but before you get to the end of that list, the money would be done or you’ll be left with almost nothing. This is what you can do: Learn about the money market. Throw in 20m and lock it for a year. Get your 16-20% upfront interest paid to you and keep your monthly income and standard of living as it was in less than 500k a month. YOU WILL NOT DIE. This gives you a whole year to actually plan for how you will execute your 20m. Someone is saying, what about inflation? True. But there will still be a lot of things you can do with 20m after a year. Meanwhile, you still have 10m with you. Whatever gave you that 30m, use a part of that 10m to improve yourself in that skill. Use a part of that 10m to network in the field that gave you that 30m. That money can change your life, I insist. And the fact that some of us have seen and held good money doesn’t make such figures less massive. Selah
